Pakistan's Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir allegedly used his business ties with an Iranian military commander to protect Saudi Arabia from Iran's missile attacks during a US-Israel-Iran conflict.

The arrangement dates back to late 2025, when Munir and Ahmad Vahidi, the head of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), linked up in a private company that transported Iranian oil to Pakistan.

Munir used his leverage as a business partner to persuade Tehran to stop targeting Saudi Arabia, which had faced repeated attacks during the conflict's first month. This reportedly led to a three-month respite for Saudi Arabia from further Iran-attributed attacks.

However, in recent weeks, Iran launched a missile towards Saudi Arabia, prompting Munir to warn Vahidi that their joint oil business could be jeopardized if Tehran continued its strikes.
