Pakistan Army Chief Accused of Using Secret Oil Venture to Shield Saudi Arabia

Pakistan's army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, allegedly used a secret oil-transport venture with Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps commander to help broker an informal agreement shielding Saudi Arabia from Iranian missile strikes.

According to three anonymous officials cited by The Times of Israel, Munir leveraged the joint venture with IRGC chief Ahmad Vahidi, which reportedly transported oil from Iran to Pakistan since late 2025, as leverage in mediating an understanding between Tehran and Riyadh in late March.

The sources said Saudi Arabia went largely unscathed by Iranian attacks for months after the alleged deal, until Iran fired a missile at the kingdom over the weekend, prompting Munir to warn Vahidi that the strike jeopardized their commercial arrangement.
