NABEP Seeks $10 Billion Prepayments for Venezuela Oil Venture
Venezuela's oil industry is set for a significant shake-up with North American Blue Energy Partners (NABEP) seeking $10 billion in advance payments from global crude oil traders.
Under an agreement between the US and Venezuela, NABEP has secured 100-year mining concessions for 17 oil fields, reportedly holding around 65 billion barrels of proven reserves.
NABEP, led by Alejandro Betancourt, plans to invest up to $100 billion in Venezuela's oil infrastructure to rapidly increase production. The company aims to secure significant new production within two years, with annual net sales potentially reaching $5 billion assuming an oil price of $70 per barrel.
