NALCO and GAIL Sign Landmark Gas Agreement to Boost Natural Gas Supply at Odisha Smelter Plant

The National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has signed a long-term gas transmission agreement with GAIL (India) Limited to ensure a reliable supply of natural gas for its smelter plant in Anugul, Odisha. This partnership is part of NALCO's initiative to revamp furnace firing systems across various facilities at the smelter plant.

The agreement will facilitate the supply and distribution of natural gas required for furnace operations at NALCO's smelter plant. The gas supply will support revamped furnace firing systems in key areas, including cast house, pot lines, rolling plant, and anode baking furnace.

GAIL will establish a dedicated Gas Distribution Station on the smelter premises to ensure seamless distribution of natural gas within the plant. This infrastructure upgrade is expected to provide a structured mechanism for supplying natural gas across the smelter plant, supporting the modernisation of its furnace systems.
