NASDAQ Extends Trading Hours for US Stocks

The NASDAQ stock exchange is planning to extend its trading hours starting from December 6. According to Huo Xing Finance, the new session will run from 9:00 PM to 4:00 AM Eastern Time, which corresponds to 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Beijing Time. This change aims to move towards a five-day-per-week, 23-hour-per-day trading schedule.

This development is part of the trend in traditional finance where markets are increasingly moving toward round-the-clock trading. The CME already offers 24/7 trading for certain commodities like gold and silver futures, although it still maintains maintenance windows.
