National Gas Prices Surge to New High Amid Crude Oil Uncertainty
The national average price for gasoline has reached a new high of $4.10 per gallon, surpassing last week's price and marking a significant milestone. This is also the highest national average on record for this date in August.
According to Doug Johnson, spokesperson for AAA Mountain West Group, 'Even though gasoline demand is down, which is typical for this time of year, crude oil is pushing up the national average.'
The national average is currently 3 cents higher than last week's price, while California's average remains stagnant at $5.58 per gallon.
