Natural gas futures are struggling ahead of the weekend due to ample supply and dwindling cooling demand. In early Friday trade, prompt month natural gas futures risked a seventh straight weekly loss. The market is assessing a build of 33 Bcf in storage.

The intense heat that has been driving up natural gas demand will persist through the weekend, but this may not be enough to offset the increasing supply.
