Natural Gas Prices Consolidate as $2.80-$3 Range Dominates
Natural gas prices have been consolidating in a narrow range between $2.80 and $3, with no clear momentum to break out of this zone.
This stability is not surprising given that it's a relatively quiet time of year for natural gas markets, historically speaking.
However, the European natural gas futures contract has seen a significant surge in recent months, rising by about 50% over the last month or so. But since this is a US contract, changes in European prices don't directly impact the US market until there's talk of importing natural gas from the States.
For now, traders are looking for trading opportunities within this narrow range, with minimal volatility expected due to the time of year and the fact that we're trading the August contract.
