Natural Gas Prices Hold Above $3.00 as Global Market Remains Tight
Natural gas prices have continued to recover from their August low near $2.65, currently trading around $3.04/MMBtu.
The price is holding above the psychological level of $3.00, with a sequence of higher lows on the hourly chart indicating a possible new support zone formation.
Fundamentally, natural gas inventories in the Lower 48 rose to 3.214 Tcf in the week ending August 28, but regional storage facilities remain tight, particularly in the South Central region and salt storage facilities.
The global price gap between Henry Hub and European markets remains supportive for U.S. LNG exports, with U.S. shipments increasing by 23% y/y to 17.4 Bcf/d in the first half of 2026.
