Nayara Energy Denies Fuel Sales Cap Amid Government Intervention
Nayara Energy has denied capping petrol and diesel sales at its retail outlets across India. The company claims it is ensuring fuel availability for customers, despite a surge in international crude oil prices.
Petroleum Secretary Neeraj Mittal expressed disappointment over private fuel retailers capping fuel sales, saying that 'nobody is allowed to put a cap on sales.' He added that the government would instruct private retailers to stop such practices.
Nayara Energy has maintained fuel availability across its nationwide retail network, serving over 7,000 stations and other channels. The company remains committed to meeting India's demand for fuel, despite claims of capping sales at outlets run by Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) and Jio-bp.
