NCCF Seeks 24% Growth Amid Government Procurement Boost
The National Cooperative Consumers' Federation (NCCF) is aiming for a significant increase in turnover, targeting Rs 17,200 crore in FY27, a 24% jump from Rs 13,908 crore in FY26. According to Annice Joseph Chandra, MD of NCCF, the government's likely increase in procurement of agricultural commodities under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) is a key factor driving this growth.
NCCF has already shown significant expansion in its procurement operations across 10 states, with a turnover rise of 68% from Rs 8,270 crore in FY25. In FY26, the cooperative purchased over 2 million tonnes of paddy, onions, oilseeds, pulses, and wheat from 5.5 million farmers.
NCCF currently accounts for around 35% of the total procurement volume of oilseeds and pulses under the agriculture ministry's PSS, with the remaining procurement being undertaken by Nafed. The cooperative has also signed MoUs with 63 distilleries for the supply of maize to support ethanol production under the government's blending programme.
NCCF plans to increase its retail and private trading operations, aiming for around 40% of its revenue to come from these activities over the next five years. The federation currently has around 34 outlets selling agri-commodities and aims to expand this number to 40-45 by the end of FY27.
