Nebraska Corn Board Offers Grants for Higher Ethanol Blends
The Nebraska Corn Board is taking steps to promote higher ethanol blends in the state's fuel market. The board has announced that it will be accepting grant applications for ethanol infrastructure support, which will help fuel retailers add or expand options such as E15.
The program aims to increase consumer access to cleaner and more affordable fuels, while also driving demand for Nebraska-grown corn through locally produced ethanol.
Retailers can apply for grants of up to $75,000 per location to install equipment capable of offering multiple higher ethanol blends. Those planning to offer E15 and one higher blend may be eligible for up to $50,000, while those upgrading to offer E15 only could receive up to $25,000.
The board is funded through a producer checkoff investment of 1 cent per bushel on all corn marketed in the state. The Nebraska Corn Board is managed by nine farmer directors and aims to increase the value and sustainability of Nebraska corn through promotion, market development, and research.
