Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen led a trade delegation to the Philippines on Monday as part of the state's mission to Asia. This follows a successful 24-hour visit to Japan, where the Governor promoted Nebraska beef, pork, wheat, and low-carbon energy production.

The Nebraska delegation met with key buyers in Japan, including Marudai, which has been purchasing Nebraska beef and pork for years. In the Philippines, they discussed opportunities to grow exports of Nebraska wheat, with the country ranking as the #2 export market for American wheat from 2021-2025 at an average of $783 million per year.

The delegation also highlighted the state's ability to help Filipino companies meet their E10 fuel mandate and move towards adoption of E20 fuel. The Philippines relies on imports for about half its annual demand for fuel ethanol, with U.S. ethanol enjoying tariff-free access to the market.
