Netherlands Manufacturing Output Prices Soar 6.8% Amid Crude Oil Price Surge
The Netherlands saw a significant increase in manufacturing output prices in August 2026, according to Statistics Netherlands (CBS). The prices charged for goods produced in the country rose by 6.8 percent compared to the same month a year earlier. This follows a 5.1 percent annual gain in July.
Crude oil prices played a significant role in this increase, with a barrel of crude costing almost 76 euros in August 2026, marking a 31 percent year-on-year increase. The geopolitical situation in the Middle East has driven up oil prices since March, and petroleum derivatives saw an annual rise of 59.7 percent in August versus 43.2 percent in July.
Chemical sector output prices also followed crude oil trends, with a 14.1 percent increase from July 2025 levels in August 2026, compared to a 12.2 percent gain in July.
