Netherlands Manufacturing Output Prices Surge 6.8% Year-on-Year
Netherlands manufacturing output prices rose by nearly 7% in August compared to the same month last year, according to Statistics Netherlands (CBS). The data shows that output prices for products manufactured in the Netherlands were 6.8% higher in August 2026 than they were in August 2025.
The increase in manufacturing output prices is largely due to the rise in oil prices. A barrel of crude oil cost nearly 76 euros in August, representing a year-on-year rise of 31%. This follows on from July's 24% year-on-year price increase. The recent surge in oil prices can be attributed to the geopolitical situation in the Middle East.
The producer price index for petroleum derivatives was up by 59.7% in August compared to the same month last year, while chemical products showed a 14.1% year-on-year increase in output prices.
