Netherlands Transfers 86 Tonnes of Gold to UK Amid Geopolitical Tensions

The Netherlands' central bank, De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB), has moved 86 tonnes of gold from the United States and Canada to the UK in a bid to diversify its reserves amid rising geopolitical tensions.

The transfer brings the proportion of Dutch gold held in London up from 18.1% to 32.1%, while the share held in the US and Canada has fallen to 18.5% each.

The Netherlands currently holds 612.4 tonnes of gold reserves, worth €72.2 billion at the end of last year.
