Nevada Gas Prices Soar as Crude Oil Costs Remain High
Nevada's gas prices are on the rise again, according to new data from AAA Nevada. The average cost of a gallon of gas in the state is now $4.77, with Reno averaging $5.06 and Las Vegas at $4.76.
The increase comes despite a typical drop in gasoline demand for this time of year, said Doug Johnson, spokesperson for AAA Mountain West Group.
Even with lower demand, crude oil prices remain high, pushing the national average up. The price of crude oil is currently in the $80 per barrel range due to ongoing instability in the Strait of Hormuz.
