Nevada's Only Crude Oil Refinery Restarts with New Air Permit in Place
Sky Quarry has successfully restarted its Eagle Springs Refinery in Nevada after completing approximately $300,000 in repairs and upgrades. The refinery received a state air permit from the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection, allowing it to resume operations.
The refinery has a stated nameplate capacity of around 5,000 barrels of crude oil per day. Sky Quarry currently has about 15,000 barrels of crude oil inventory on hand and expects additional supply as operations progress.
Marcus Laun, Interim Chief Executive Officer of Sky Quarry, said the company is committed to ramping up the refinery's production toward its full operating potential. The Eagle Springs Refinery produces diesel, vacuum gas oil, naphtha, and liquid paving asphalt, making it a crucial part of Nevada's fuel supply chain.
