Newcore Gold Sees Major Valuation Gap Between Project Potential and Market Capitalization
Newcore Gold's Enchi Gold Project in Ghana has a significant valuation gap according to the company's President and CEO, Luke Alexander. Speaking at the 2026 Precious Metals Summit, Alexander highlighted that the market is not reflecting the project's economic potential as outlined in its pre-feasibility study (PFS). The PFS showed an after-tax net present value of $647 million at a gold price of $4,200, while Newcore Gold's current market capitalization stands at around $80 million.
“We think there’s a fundamental disconnect between where our market cap is today relative to the project value that we outlined within that PFS,” Alexander said. This disconnect suggests that investors may not be fully recognizing the potential of the Enchi Gold Project, which could have implications for the company's stock price and future growth prospects.
Newcore Gold has been working on transitioning from a heap leach to a CIL operation at the Enchi project, as well as navigating changes in Ghana's mining and royalty regulations. The company is also conducting further drilling, with approximately 33,000 meters of results still pending from its ongoing 80,000-meter program.
