Newmont Shares Rally as Gold Prices Regain Strength
Newmont Corporation's NEM shares have surged 24.3% over the past month due to a rebound in gold prices and its forecast-topping earnings performance.
The company's operational efficiency, higher realized prices, and strong asset portfolio have driven its success.
Newmont has outperformed the Zacks Mining, Gold industry by 1.4% and the S&P 500 by 22.5%, with peers Barrick Mining Corporation B and Agnico Eagle Mines Limited AEM gaining 12.9% and 28.2%, respectively.
Newmont's project pipeline supports higher production, with ongoing investments in projects such as the Cadia Panel Caves and Tanami Expansion 2 in Australia.
The company has recommenced work at the Cadia panel cave project following a seismic event in April and is progressing with an expected completion of all underground infrastructure by the end of the third quarter of 2026.
