The report highlighted that the average gasoline price nationwide was $4.3672 per gallon, while California's average gas price was significantly higher at $6.0440 per gallon.

Newsom's office responded to Wright's criticism of California's imports of Iraqi oil by sharing social media posts highlighting high fuel costs in other states, including Ohio. Newsom labeled Wright as Trump's 'Chief Oil Shill' for blaming California for national fuel price increases.
