NG Prices Rebound from Intraday Lows on Power Burn, Production Slump

Natural gas futures recovered from steep early losses Monday, trimming their decline by midday as falling production and increasing power burn offset weekend forecasts that predicted cooler temperatures.

The September New York Mercantile Exchange futures were trading at $2.691/MMBtu as of 12:15 p.m. ET, down 4.2 cents from the previous day.

Despite these losses, natural gas prices remain relatively stable due to firming power burn and slipping production, which have offset weekend forecasts that called for cooler temperatures.
