Nifty Hits Fresh High Amid Lower Oil Prices
The Indian stock market ended on a high note for the fourth consecutive session, with the Nifty index hovering near the 24,600 mark. This surge in the market is attributed to easing geopolitical tensions and a sharp decline in crude oil prices. Brent crude fell by nearly 4% after reports of renewed diplomatic efforts in the Middle East provided relief to oil-sensitive sectors.
The rupee also rebounded as investors' sentiment improved. Banking, financials, and select auto stocks led the gains, while market participants tracked global cues from US markets, Treasury yields, and the dollar's movement. The RBI policy is also on the radar of investors ahead of its announcement.
