Nigeria Crushes Oil Production Targets in 5-Month Period
Nigeria's crude oil and condensate production averaged 1.67 million barrels per day between March and August 2026, exceeding its OPEC quota levels.
The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission reported that the country produced around 307 million barrels of crude oil and condensate during this period.
Production increased steadily from March to June, reaching a peak of 1.74 million barrels per day in June before easing slightly in July and August.
The data highlights Nigeria's efforts to rebuild and stabilize its petroleum output after facing challenges such as crude theft, pipeline vandalism, ageing infrastructure, security risks, and operational disruptions.
