Nigeria, Saudi Arabia Deepen Economic Ties Through Diaspora Investment
Nigerian and Saudi Arabian stakeholders are pushing to strengthen economic ties between their countries by leveraging diaspora expertise and capital.
The Nigeria-Saudi Arabia Investment and Tourism Exhibition, scheduled for August 4-5 in Abuja, aims to create a platform for collaboration among Nigerian diaspora communities in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi government, and private sector actors.
NiDCOM Chairman/CEO Abike Dabiri-Erewa stated that the event would feature more than 100 exhibitors across 20 investment sectors, including energy, oil and gas, renewable energy, agriculture, tourism, manufacturing, ICT, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals. The exhibition will include business-to-business matchmaking sessions and other activities to facilitate partnerships among investors and stakeholders.
The event's theme is 'Misconceptions, Challenges, and Opportunities in Investing in Saudi Arabia and Nigeria.' A delegation from Saudi Arabia has already arrived in Abuja for the event, which is expected to be a biannual affair with future editions rotating between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
