Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, Chief of Naval Staff, made this assurance when he received a delegation from the Security Sub-Committee of the Oil Producers Trade Section (OPTS) at the Naval Headquarters in Abuja.

Discussions during the meeting focused on enhancing security around oil production facilities, remote assets, and export terminals. The OPTS delegation requested increased naval patrols in vulnerable maritime areas and security support for the movement of petroleum products.

Vice Admiral Abbas reaffirmed the Navy's resolve to secure Nigeria's maritime domain and safeguard critical national economic assets. He noted that ongoing naval operations have contributed significantly to reducing crude oil theft and other maritime crimes in the country.
