Nigeria's Decade of Gas Tracks $80 Billion in Gas Projects
Nigeria's Decade of Gas initiative is tracking $80 billion worth of gas projects across production, infrastructure, and utilisation. The combined investment requirement for these 96 projects could take Nigeria's gas supply to new heights.
The projects include 20 upstream gas developments with a potential of 4.7 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/d), 16 critical infrastructure projects, and 60 gas utilisation projects spanning compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), power generation, fertiliser, methanol, and floating LNG developments.
The estimated $30 billion investment in the first wave of upstream projects could take gas production to 12.6 bcf/d by 2030.
Nigeria's ability to attract capital depends on certainty around the investment environment, according to Chris Jablonski, Director and Chief Commercial Officer at Chevron Nigeria and Mid-Africa.
