Nigeria's External Reserves Surge Past $55 Billion Amid Crude Oil Price Rally
Nigeria's external reserves have reached nearly $55 billion, thanks to a significant increase in crude oil prices and peace in the Niger Delta region. The current reserves position is higher than the Central Bank of Nigeria's (CBN) projected target of $51.04 billion for the end of the year.
The increased earnings from crude oil export have boosted external reserves, providing the economy with a stronger footing against global shocks. The CBN's data shows that the liquid portion of the external reserves stood at $54.08 billion as of September 22.
Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) has been credited with maintaining peace and stability in the Niger Delta region, which has translated to an increase in oil revenue. The company's operations have ensured the security of oil pipelines, achieved uninterrupted flow of petroleum resources, and reduced rampant oil theft.
