Nigeria's Oil Exports Surge to $9.39 Billion Amid Improved Pipeline Security
Nigeria's Q2 2026 oil export earnings rose to $9.39 billion, driven by significant increases in crude exports and pipeline security efforts. The country's goods account saw a strong positive balance due to a substantial rise in total exports to $20.08 billion from $15.56 billion in the first quarter.
Crude oil exports led the surge, climbing 15.78 percent to $9.39 billion, while gas exports rose sharply by 40.15 percent to $3.63 billion and refined petroleum products increased by 66.24 percent to $3.94 billion.
The provisional balance of payments statistics released by the Central Bank of Nigeria confirmed the improved external position. Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) has been central to this shift, providing pipeline surveillance responsibilities that have helped convert persistent losses into measurable gains in export revenue.
