Nigeria's Refining Capacity Faces Crucial Test at NORS 2026
The Nigerian oil and gas industry is gearing up for the Nigeria Oil Refining Summit (NORS) 2026 in Lagos, which will focus on turning the country's refining capacity into a stronger, more integrated, and investable economy.
The event, hosted by the Crude Oil Refinery-Owners Association of Nigeria (CORAN), aims to address the commercial foundations of a competitive refining industry and examine how Nigeria can attract capital, strengthen commercial linkages, and convert refining capacity into lasting economic value.
The Dangote refinery's initial public offering (IPO) has brought attention to the sector, raising questions about how Nigeria can turn growing refining capacity into sustained economic value. The event will bring together refiners, upstream producers, regulators, investors, banks, DFIs, traders, and infrastructure and service providers.
The summit will also discuss the critical link of crude supply, which is essential for a competitive refining industry. Upstream producers, refiners, and regulators will come together to tackle issues that determine whether domestic refining can operate at scale, from crude availability and pricing to commercial terms, supply security, regulation, and investment.
