Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) is urging the global gas industry to prioritize methane reduction, citing lost revenue and energy as a result of emissions.
The company's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Adeleye Falade, made the call at the Gastech 2026 Exhibition and Conference in Bangkok, Thailand.
NLNG's approach to methane management begins with measuring losses accurately and investing in leak prevention and gas recovery. The company relies on independent verification to strengthen the credibility of its methane reporting.
Falade noted that preventing gas losses serves both commercial and environmental objectives, and that NLNG has seen positive results from its investments in this area.
