NNPC Posts Strong Operational Efficiency in 2025 Financial Results
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) reported strong operational efficiency and growth in its audited financial results for 2025. The company's bottom-line grew significantly, despite a decline in top-line revenue due to lower international crude oil prices and reduced white product sales volumes following the deregulation of the domestic fuel market.
According to NNPC's Annual General Meeting and second Earnings Call with market analysts, Profit After Tax surged by 33% to reach N7.2 trillion, while EBITDA expanded 22% to N18.0 trillion. Operating cash flow increased 16% to N12.8 trillion, and Return on Equity (ROE) expanded by 200 basis points to 16%. NNPC's Upstream operations reached multi-year highs across both liquid and gas streams.
The company's group chief executive officer, Bashir Bayo Ojulari, attributed the growth to 'disciplined execution and a capable workforce'. He emphasized that NNPC is strengthening earnings, growing production, and investing in assets to sustain value for its shareholders, communities, and the Nigerian people.
