NNPC Reports Record Profit of N7.2tn Amid Declining Revenue
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has reported a significant increase in profit after tax, reaching N7.2tn in 2025, up from N5.4tn in 2024.
This represents a 33 percent growth, despite a decline in revenue by 24 percent to N34.5tn due to lower crude oil prices and reduced white-product volumes following downstream market deregulation.
The company's Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), Bayo Ojulari, attributed the improved profitability to stronger operations, tighter financial discipline, and a more deliberate approach to costs.
Ojulari emphasized that the N7.2tn profit is not the destination but rather a platform for further growth and transformation.
