The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) is reviving the OgunLNG project in Ogun Waterside, Ogun State, with an initial investment of $10 billion. The project has been on the drawing board for over three decades and has the potential to strengthen Nigeria's energy supply while providing gas for industries.

The state government assured NNPC of its full cooperation during a meeting led by Chief Financial Officer Mr. Adedapo Segun. Governor Dapo Abiodun noted that the project would have significant multiplier effects, particularly in employment generation and the provision of gas to industries within the economic zone.

The governor also linked the LNG revival to the $7 billion Deep Sea Port and Blue Marine SEZ, describing it as a major boost to Nigeria's maritime and industrial capacity. He said the development would further reinforce Ogun's position as an industrial centre while positioning Ogun Waterside as an emerging energy and maritime hub.
