NNPCL Slashes Petrol Prices in Abuja Amid Rising Crude Oil Costs
Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced a reduction in petrol prices at its filling stations across Abuja. According to a market survey by DAILY POST, NNPCL retail outlets in Gwarimpa and Kubwa have adjusted their petrol prices to N1,405 per litre from N1,430 per litre.
However, some locations such as the Kubwa Expressway, Air Junction, and Wuse Zones 4 and 5 still retain a price of N1,395 per litre. This variation in prices by N10 per litre across different locations has been observed at NNPCL retail outlets.
MRS, Ranoil, AA Rano, Empire Energy, and other filling stations in Abuja are currently dispensing petrol at between N1,395 and N1,430 per litre. The reduction comes as the Dangote Refinery last week reduced its gantry fuel price by N25 per litre to N1,325.
The current crude oil prices of $92 per barrel for West Texas Intermediate (WTI) and $104 per barrel for Brent crude have not prompted most filling stations to reduce their petrol prices yet. Nigerians are still calling for further reductions in petrol prices amid the rising cost of living.
