North Dakota's Oil Production Booms as US-Iran Tensions Drive Higher Prices
North Dakota's oil production continues to soar, driven by the ongoing conflict between the US and Iran. According to recent data from the North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources, the state produced 35.85 million barrels of oil in July, a 5.15% increase from the revenue forecast.
The higher oil prices are also benefiting the state's tax revenue, with Gunther Harms, from the North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources' oil and gas division, stating that the market oil price for July was $75.56 a barrel, 32.6% above the revenue forecast based on a $57 barrel price.
As a result of the higher prices, Americans are paying more at the gas pump, with the national average reaching $4.47 a gallon in September, up 16 cents from the previous week, according to AAA.
