North Macedonia Offers Grants to Promote Natural Gas Adoption
North Macedonia's Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources has launched a public call for grants to support households in switching to natural gas. The initiative aims to decarbonize the energy sector and reduce air pollution by providing subsidies for connecting to the natural gas network and purchasing a gas boiler.
Households can receive up to MKD 30,000 (EUR 488), or 70% of the investment cost, as financial support. The deadline for submitting applications is October 31, 2026, with a total allocation of MKD 3 million (EUR 49,000) for subsidies.
The state is also using subsidies to increase energy efficiency and promote cleaner energy, according to the ministry. Only one application per household will be accepted, and funds will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until the entire amount is used up.
