Norway's Crude Oil Production Rebounds, Still Trails Last Year's Levels

Norway's crude oil production rebounded in August, exceeding forecast but still lagging behind last year's levels.

The country's total liquids output averaged 2.073 million barrels per day, an increase of 97,000 barrels or about 4.9% from July's figure of 1.976 million barrels per day.

However, despite the monthly recovery, Norway's crude oil production remains 74,000 barrels per day lower than in August 2025, when it reached 1.956 million barrels per day.

Natural gas production declined by 9.7 million cubic meters per day from July to 342 million standard cubic meters per day, which is below the Directorate's forecast of 348.6 million.
