Novatek's Ust-Luga Complex Damaged by Drone Attack

Russia's largest liquefied natural gas producer, Novatek, has suffered damage to one of its key gas processing complexes in the Baltic port of Ust-Luga due to a drone attack on August 14.

The extent of the damage is not yet known, but two sources close to the matter have confirmed that oil export operations through the Ust-Luga terminal were unaffected by the attack.

Ust-Luga is one of Russia's main oil export terminals, with around 700,000 barrels of crude oil shipped through it every day. The complex processes gas condensate into various petroleum products, including light and heavy crude oil, jet fuel, marine fuel oil, and diesel fuel.

The Novatek-Ust-Luga complex has been targeted by drone attacks on multiple occasions in the past, and this latest incident is seen as a significant blow to Russia's oil export capabilities. The Ukrainian General Staff confirmed that two processing plants were hit during the attack.
