NSE Launches India's First Domestic Natural Gas Futures Contract
National Stock Exchange (NSE) will launch India's first domestic natural gas futures contract on July 27. The contract, named NATGASIND, will be based on the Indian Gas Exchange's (IGX) Gujarat (Dahej) hub price. This makes it the country's first energy derivative referenced to a domestic benchmark.
The introduction of this contract is expected to help gas producers, distributors, industrial users, and traders manage domestic natural gas price volatility. It will provide a platform for them to hedge their risks and stabilize prices.
