NSE Partners with Augmont to Boost Electronic Gold Receipts
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has partnered with Augmont Gold Tech to promote electronic gold receipts, aiming to simplify and deepen India's organized gold market.
Under this partnership, Augmont will provide technical and on-ground support for the development of Electronic Gold Receipts (EGRs), which are dematerialised securities representing physical gold stored in Sebi-accredited vaults. These EGRs can be traded on the exchange and offer liquidity and smaller denominations.
The initiative seeks to strengthen the gold trading ecosystem by improving price discovery and market participation, while enhancing transparency and trust among jewellers, refiners, traders, and institutional investors.
