NYK Unveils DIAMOND GAS NEXUS LNG Carrier at Korean Shipyard
Japanese shipping company NYK has welcomed a new vessel to its fleet, the LNG carrier 'DIAMOND GAS NEXUS', built by Korean shipbuilder HD Hyundai Samho. The ceremony was attended by Tetsuro Wada, CEO of Diamond Global Energy Pte. Ltd., and Ryutaro Okuzawa, Executive Officer of NYK.
The 'DIAMOND GAS NEXUS' is a massive vessel with a length overall of 289.9 meters and a beam of 46.1 meters, boasting a cargo capacity of 174,000 cubic meters. It's powered by an X-DF 2.2 iCER main engine, a dual-fuel slow-speed diesel engine.
The ship is chartered to DGE, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation based in Singapore, and will primarily engage in LNG transportation for the Cameron LNG project in the United States under NYK's ship-management framework.
