NYK's Joint Venture Names New LNG Carrier GREENERGY RIVER
The NYK Group's joint venture company, HUAJING LNG TRANSPORT PTE. LTD. (HLT), held a naming ceremony for its new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, GREENERGY RIVER, on August 4th. The ship is being built at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding in China and will be deployed under a long-term charter contract with the CNOOC Group.
The vessel is equipped with a highly fuel-efficient dual-fuel engine that uses fuel oil and boil-off gas as fuel, contributing to reduced greenhouse gas emissions. GREENERGY RIVER is the first of six LNG carriers that HLT will deploy for CNOOC SG under this project.
The NYK Group has positioned its Energy Business Division, including the LNG/LPG carrier business, as a growth area in line with its medium-term management plan 'Sail Green, Drive Transformations 2026'.
