NYMEX Precious Metals Prices Plunge Across the Board
The New York Merchantile Exchange (NYMEX) reported a decline in precious metals prices on September 23. The NYMEX is a US futures market founded in 1882, with two divisions: the NYMEX Division and the COMEX Division.
The price of gold futures dropped by 1.33% to $4281.30 per troy ounce (31.1 grams). Silver futures plummeted by 2.35% to $64.38 per troy ounce, while platinum futures fell by 3.38% to $1756.70.
The NYMEX Division handles trades of oil, gas, platinum, palladium, ethanol, coal, electricity, and carbon dioxide emissions, among other commodities. The COMEX Division is responsible for gold, silver, copper, and aluminum trades.
