Ogoni Youths Demand Inclusion, Transparency in Oil Production Resumption Process

Protests broke out in parts of Ogoniland as residents of Korokoro Community and members of the Coalition of Ogoni Youths (COY) demanded greater inclusion, transparency, and accountability in the ongoing process for the resumption of oil production.

The protesters, who claimed to support the resumption of oil operations, expressed their dissatisfaction with the current leadership and representation of the Ogoni Dialogue Committee (ODC).

They called for a change in the ODC leadership and requested that credible Ogoni leaders be selected to represent the communities' interests.
