OGRA Slashes LNG Prices by Over 21 Percent
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a significant reduction in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) prices for September, slashing rates by over 21 percent. This cut affects both major distribution networks in the country.
The price of LNG has been reduced by $3.91 per MMBtu on average, marking one of the steepest downward revisions in recent months. On the Sui Northern system, LNG prices have been brought down by $3.83 per MMBtu, setting the new rate at $15.19 per MMBtu. The Sui Southern system has seen a slightly larger cut of $3.91 per MMBtu, bringing its price to $14.22 per MMBtu.
The OGRA issues monthly LNG price notifications based on prevailing international market rates. This latest revision reflects a broader decline in global LNG benchmarks. The new rates will take effect from September and apply to industrial, commercial, and power-sector consumers drawing gas through the two Sui systems.
