Oil Price Bounce Lifts US Stocks Ahead of Fed Rate Decision

Oil prices rebounded on Wednesday, boosting US stock indices as investors await the Federal Reserve's policy decisions.

The sudden recovery in crude prices came after data showed a drawdown in inventory last week, which sent oil prices plummeting to 3-1/2 month lows.

Energy and crude shares rose in tandem with Wall Street, driven by expectations of a rate hike from the Fed later in the day.

The dollar, however, fell against a basket of currencies as consumer prices rose less than expected, benefiting stocks of American exporters.
