Oil Price Slide Steadies US Stocks After Three-Day Losing Streak
A cooldown in oil prices on Friday is helping to ease pressure on Wall Street, causing US stocks to tick higher.
The S&P 500 gained 0.3%, ending a three-day losing streak caused by rising bond yields. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 179 points, or 0.3%, and the Nasdaq composite rose 0.4%.
Stocks were boosted after the price of Brent crude oil fell 1.6% to $98.63, which has been volatile due to uncertainty about when the war with Iran will allow oil to flow freely again from the Middle East.
