Oil Price Surge Weighs on Pakistan Stock Exchange Amid US-Iran Tensions

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) is bracing for a cautious week ahead as tensions between the US and Iran continue to escalate, pushing oil prices higher. The conflict has led to a sharp increase in crude oil prices, with Brent peaking above $101 a barrel before easing to $97.

AKD Research said the market remains attractively valued, trading at a price-to-earnings ratio of 7.8 times. However, this is little consolation for investors who are likely to remain cautious given the uncertainty surrounding global events.

Despite the challenges, AKD Research forecasts that the KSE-100 Index will reach 263,800 points by December 2026, citing strong corporate earnings and improving economic fundamentals.
