Oil Price Surpasses $121 as Tensions with Iran Escalate
The price of Azerbaijani oil has surpassed $121 per barrel, sparking concerns that global markets could be severely impacted by military and political tensions.
Azad Masiyev, a political commentator speaking to TodayPress TV, warned that these tensions inevitably have a direct impact on the global economy.
'The economy is closely linked to politics,' he said, 'just as politics is closely linked to the economy.'
Masiyev recalled past and current geopolitical examples of the US seeking to control oil and energy resources in various countries to preserve its political and geopolitical influence.
'The United States seeks to use Iran against China, which is a serious source of competition for the US,' he explained. 'One of the main objectives is to block energy resources, particularly oil, flowing to China.'
Masiyev also highlighted tensions within the US itself and in financial markets, warning that any chaos emerging from these military operations could paralyze the global market.
